Professional Career & Executive Coaching

A good leader makes a good follower” – Wilfred Bion

Coaching4all offers an individual coaching service to professionals in private, public and third sector organisations, in a variety of roles and positions of authority. Coaching focuses on you, at work, and delivers results that will be noticed by your manager, colleagues and clients.

How would coaching benefit me?

As a senior professional, project lead, manager, director or business owner, you have a lot of influence on the people and services for which you are responsible. You are expected to direct these services, to set and achieve goals. You are also expected to lead, support and motivate staff for whom you are responsible, or others you work with. If you manage a team or organisation, you will want to ensure staff groups are well-balanced, and employees function as independently as possible in close cooperation with their colleagues and the management of the company or service.

You’ve acquired your position through hard work and to remain at a successful level, or to extend it, requires drive, training, coaching and perseverance. The reason for choosing coaching often arises more from a developmental need than as a result of a significant difficulty or setback. Coaching offers you a reflective dialogue to help you build on your abilities and skills to manage the demands and challenges you face, and grow as a professional. It focuses on the realisation of your personal and business aims and results, as well as on how you can support and increase the functioning and performance of staff for whom you are responsible.

Coaching can also help you with work related matters that have a negative effect on your health, happiness and performance, including:

  • conflict with colleagues
  • work overload
  • losing motivation and drive
  • difficulty managing anger, frustration and stress
  • difficulty with managing change
  • struggling to move forward in your career or in making a career change
  • facing redeployment or redundancy

For example, as the result of stress you may frequently be experiencing strong emotions and think everything is getting on top of you. You may doubt your judgements and feel incompetent. You may increasingly isolate yourself and start feeling physically unwell. All this may happen without you realising it at a conscious level, and indicates you are overwhelmed, unable to cope and burned-out.

Coaching uses a positive and strengths-based approach rather than ‘shoring up weaknesses’. Coaching helps you develop your self- and other-awareness, which enables you to understand and address dysfunctional and self-defeating beliefs and ways of working; create a supportive work culture; enhance individual and team performance; and implement changes and manage relationships.

What does the career and executive coaching service include?

As an introduction:

  • A complementary, free-of-charge 15 minutes telephone conversation to discuss  how Coaching4all may help you, as an individual, or the organisation for which you work
  • Following this, we can arrange an hour-long exploratory meeting charged at the reduced hourly-rate of £100. The aim of this meeting is to explore your circumstances including some of the constraints and opportunities you face, and your strengths, visions and goals. We will discuss how Coaching4all can help you, the focus of the work, and formulate your goals. We will also agree the frequency and set-up of the coaching service. We will subsequently design a coaching service proposal for you to consider.

The coaching package:

  • A coaching package of EITHER 5 x 1.5 hours face-to-face sessions OR 10 x 45 minutes confidential coaching telephone calls / Skype conversations. In some situations we may agree a mixture of both to suit your circumstances
  • One of these sessions may include a 3-way meeting with your sponsor or line manager at your request, for example to evaluate progress or new initiatives arising from our work
  • Additional 3 x 15 minutes pre-arranged Skype sessions or telephone calls at request
  • A 24 hour response for a one-off 15 minute emergency Skype session or telephone call if required (except during holidays)
  • Complementary brief email or text correspondence between sessions

Meetings can take place at the Coaching4all office in Lewes, where free of charge on-site parking is available. Alternatively we can meet at your office, as long as we will not be interrupted.

Sessions can be taken on a (bi)-weekly basis or spread out over a 4 month period if you prefer, depending on how much time you need to work towards your goals and how quickly you want to attain your goals.

Upon completion of the coaching package, an additional package can be arranged to continue building on the progress we have made. Alternatively, you may opt for further single sessions.

Testimonials:

Here is what a range of professionals have said following our work together:

“The coaching helped me stepping back and clarifying with myself before engaging. It has allowed me to look at what challenges me within my team and resulted in me making a change to my thinking/approach/my style. I am now also delivering with confidence and greater commitment.” – from a director of an independent charity

“It helped me clarify my future role with the organisation; deal with specific difficulties and helped me develop specific questioning techniques which enable me to provide better supervision to my staff”– from a clinical director in the NHS

“I’ve learned to stand back and to analyse personal relationship dynamics in a positive way, and to allow more space for questions and thinking – there is now room for positive energy within the team” – from the director of small sustainable asset management company.
