“The goal is to balance a life that works with a life that counts” – Peter Block
What is life coaching?
People who work with life coaches are usually aspirational and want more out of life. They are people who desire growth in their personal or professional lives (possibly both), and want that growth to come faster or easier. Working with a coach can benefit your life in a variety of ways but perhaps one of the most valuable benefits is avoiding the long route towards what it is that you want to achieve in life, saving you time, frustrations and anxieties that may have previously stopped you.
Why would I need coaching?
There could be many reasons why you may want to work with us. For instance, if you:
- like to learn how to take advantage of your own strengths and talents
- struggle to make up your mind about a major life decision, such as a move
- want changes but don’t know how to make them
- want to work smarter – not harder
- are not feeling as healthy or happy as you’d like to feel
What specific issues do you help with?
Life-coaching can help you with personal issues or ‘road blocks’ that are affecting you at home and at work. These include:
- lacking confidence, self-worth and self-esteem or being overly self-critical
- low assertiveness
- relationship difficulties
- juggling the work-life balance
- difficulties managing anger, frustration and stress
- burn-out
What is your approach?
We are friendly, empathic, non-judgemental and supportive in our approach, and sensitive to what moves and motivates people. We listen carefully to what you are telling us and use a wide variety of coaching strategies that can help you re-assess your values and commitments; consider your situation from different perspectives; raise awareness of your strengths and how to build on them; learn and develop; generate ideas, find solutions, problem-solve and make decisions. Life coaching is goal-oriented, solution-focused and action-oriented.
We will ask you specific questions about what you want to accomplish and what your values are, and help you re-evaluate and re-focus your thinking to make sure you’re going about achieving your goals in an effective and meaningful way.
As a life coach, Coaching4all aims to:
- offer you different view points
- challenge your self-limiting beliefs
- give you confidence and inspiration
- help you develop new strategies and skills
- help you get ‘unstuck’ and move forward through the road blocks
- support you to realise your goals and make the life and work changes you seek
- help you find success and satisfaction
Is life coaching similar to counselling?
Dr Esmoreit Sleyster’s training and work as a Chartered Clinical Psychologist informs and guides her work as a life coach, but life coaching is not like therapy or counselling. Life coaching focuses on the present and future; on making positive changes and achieving ambitions; and on working with your strengths. It is not about seeking to resolve unfinished historical issues and heal past and present emotional wounds, as would happen in therapy.
